Job Description

Kieffer Sanitation is looking for an experienced Customer Service Representative for our Rapid City, SD location.

The Customer Service Representative (CSR) fields calls from Customers and works to resolve problems they raise concerning service or billing. A successful CSR must understand the business, so they can resolve various types of customer issues. Customer Service Representatives must show empathy or sensitivity to the customer regarding the issue at hand.

Requirements

  • Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year of Customer Service experience.
  • Candidate must show competency in typing and 10 Key Data Entry test.
  • Solid Waste Industry Experience is also preferred but not required.

Monday - Friday full time 40 hour work week with full benefits starting at the beginning of the month after 60 days of employment.

  • Fill out contract forms, determines charges for service requested, collects deposits, prepares change of address records, and issues discontinuance orders.
  • Solicit sale of new or additional services.
  • Adjust complaints concerning billing or service rendered, referring complaints
  • Demonstrate the knowledge and effective use of software applications. These systems should include as a minimum, MS Word and Excel.
  • Deliver services to customers in a manner that promotes goodwill. Interact with customers and Waste Connections employees to determine service requirements, resolve problems or complaints, and seeks cost-effective, safe environmentally sound solutions to service issues.
  • Promote Waste Connections standard operating procedures, which assures efficient environmentally correct and safe workplace practices.

 We are looking for a safety conscience  Refuse Route Driver to join the team at our Rapid City, SD location for Kieffer Sanitation.

The ideal candidate will be self-driven and have experience operating various types of equipment.  That candidate will succeed and enjoy this position as they develop this opportunity into a great career.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ability to read route sheets and service each customer identified on the sheet or assigned by the dispatcher.
  • Perform routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.
  • Ability to perform a physically demanding job, loading and unloading, at times with no helpers.
  • Operate vacuum and hydraulic hand controls.
  • Courteous interaction with our customers and perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  • 45-55 hour work week typically M-F with an occasional Saturday. Must be available to work a flexible work schedule.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

  • Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.
  • Work environment involves some exposure to physical risks such as moving mechanical parts. Which require following basic safety precautions.
  • The employee is exposed to outside weather, including frequent wet and/or humid conditions, as well as exposure to fumes and vibration. Noise level is usually moderate.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 1 year of driving experience
  • Class B CDL with air brakes endorsement is preferred however will train the right candidate to obtain the Class B CDL.
  • Basic knowledge of truck components in order to complete pre- and post-trip inspections.

The Position:

We are looking for a high energy Diesel Mechanic - $5000 SIGN ON BONUS!!! to join the team at our Hauling location in Rapid City, SD for Kieffer Sanitation. Previous waste experience would be a huge plus.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform repairs and assigned preventative maintenance services. Performs inspections, diagnosis, and repair of electrical, hydraulics, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
  • Utilize vehicle computer electronic systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
  • Complete required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
  • Reviews, completes, or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
  • Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
  • Performs service calls for emergency breakdowns. Class B CDL preferred but not required.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
  • Typical schedule will be M-F with some Saturdays working 45-55 hours per week.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

  • Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.
  • Work environment may be indoors in a shop, or outdoors to repair trucks on the road. Usually well-lighted and ventilated. Sometimes necessary to work in awkward or tight positions and to handle greasy or dirty tools. These factors require following basic safety precautions.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to read, write, comprehend and communicate in English. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Must provide own personal tools. Welding/fabrication experience a huge plus!
